Meet the Photographer

Hello, my name is

Yarek Locia-Lorenzo

I'm a Wisconsin-based hobbyist photographer. On the rare days my health permits, photography gives me something meaningful to hold onto. After serving in Afghanistan, I left the military as a disabled veteran navigating rare and ongoing health conditions that have significantly limited my daily life. During the brief moments I am able, picking up a camera helps me feel less isolated and gives me a small sense of purpose on otherwise very difficult days.

This is purely a personal hobby with no commercial aspect whatsoever. I draw inspiration from landscapes, the community, and capturing events around me. Capturing people's emotions, real unfiltered moments, and just the little things that usually go unnoticed is honestly what gets me going. As someone who is also Autistic with ADHD, photography has this way of pulling my focus into something that actually feels good and helps me connect with the world around me in a way that just clicks for me.
